Booz Allen Hamilton

Session 1: Business Model Discussions
Title of Presentation: Business Models for Vehicle Infrastructure Integration

Ms. Wenger manages a team at Booz Allen Hamilton engaged in a wide spectrum of transportation-related work that includes: Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), automotive systems technology, commercial vehicle and transit systems, wireless communication and networking services, transport systems security and safety, planning and operations, asset management, intermodal freight and cargo systems, and aviation. Transportation government clients include the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Federal Transit Administration, and Federal Railroad Administration. In addition, Booz Allen Hamilton combines its company-wide expertise in transportation, technology, and management consulting to provide international consulting for commercial clients such as automobile and aircraft manufacturers and telecommunications service providers.

Ms. Wenger has been involved in technology applications for 30 years, and for the past 15 years, has focused on the transportation sector. During her career, Ms. Wenger worked for a diverse set of organizations including a commercial product manufacturer, a defense research contractor, a commercial engine test system manufacturer, a national research laboratory, and a not-for-profit software organization.

Her interest in business models related to “the fully networked car” is based on her experiences deploying new technologies in environments that required the commitment and support of multiple stakeholders, including commercial entities and government agencies with very different missions and goals. Ms. Wenger believes that a systems perspective is needed to address the technical, economic, cultural, and political challenges. She believes that successful technology deployment requires that all parties address, understand, and develop appropriate business models that will work in tandem.
