Summary: Recommendation ITU-T X.1341 defines the certified mail transfer protocol (CMTP) and certified post office protocol (CPOP) in order to foster the exchanges of electronic certified mails in the world in a secure way by providing confidentiality, identification of the correspondents, integrity and non-repudiation.
Comment: X.11341 was consented on 26 September 2014. X.1341 was deferred from previous AAP Last Call to SG17 for consideration. SG17 changed the approval process on 17 April 2015 from AAP to TAP according to Rec. ITU-T A.8 clause 5.2 upon request by Germany recognising regulatory and policy implications.
