This Recommendation describes the specifications for a hybrid cable set-top box (STB) to be used in cable TV networks. The hybrid cable set-top box is a key device for the reception of broadcast services and IP based services, so called the hybrid STB in the Cable Television network environment. By combining a Cable Platform and Home Network, the STB can offer new interactive services to cable customers as well as cable operators. This document contains descriptions of the STB architecture, hardware, software, media-processing, and applications for hybrid cable STB.
