ITU-T and World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)
Introduction

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), a UN Summit in which ITU played the leading managerial role, was held in two phases, in Geneva 10-12 December 2003 and in Tunis 16-18 November 2005. The Geneva Declaration of Principles (para 64) recognizes, inter alia, that ITU’s core competence in standards development is of crucial importance in building the Information Society. This page provides some links to ITU-T’s work related to WSIS.
