Focus Group on Next Generation Networks (FGNGN)
The NGN Focus Group was created in mid 2004 to address the urgent emerging needs for global standards for Next
Generation Networks (NGN) regarding service requirements, functional architecture and mobility, security, QoS,
control and signalling capability, evolution and future packet-based bearer network. It had its final meeting in
November 2005 from which its deliverables were passed to the parent SG13 for further consideration. This work is
being continued under the umbrella of the NGN Global Standardization Initiative
(NGN-GSI).
