WG1 E-Meeting (2006-12-01 to 2006-12-21)



E-mail announcement from FG IPTV Chairman
Dear colleagues,

Below please find the details on how to move forward the IPTV Service Requirements document (FG IPTV-DOC-0053) and the IPTV Architecture document (FG IPTV-DOC-0056) as part of the electronic meeting of WG 1. In a nutshell, the comment period will start now and run until 17 December and will be done on the emailing list fgiptv@itu.int. After this period, we will have further discussion on the whole revised documents from 18 to 21 of December.

Details
As was indicated in FG IPTV Busan meeting report (FG IPTV-R-0014), we are scheduled to have an electronic meeting from 18 to 21 December 2006 to agree on WG1 report (FG IPTV-R-0008) and to advance the IPTV service requirements (FG IPTV-DOC-0053) and the IPTV Architecture (FG IPTV-DOC-0056). Due to the fact that these four days may not be enough to have good progress, I have had extensive consultations with the WG1 leaders to find a way to progress our work. We decided to reorganize the Requirement document as is presented in "Interim-001" ( http://www.itu.int/ITU-T/IPTV/events/122006/wg1emeet.html ; can also be access through the FG IPTV home page at http://www.itu.int/ITU-T/IPTV ) with explanation of the changes to make it easier for the people to comment. For the Architecture document there has been no attempt to revise it. Further to this activity and in order to have adequate time to work on all parts of the document we have decided to start the comment period already now and run until 17 December, with the following schedule as comment period:

Nomenclature for tracing comments
To help trace the comments, I request we use the following conventions for the titles of our emails.

For the Requirement document: Req-<sub-clause>-<your first name>

Example: For comments related to sub-clause 5.3 of the requirement document and if John is the first to comment, the title of John’s email reads: Req-5.3-John

For the Architecture document: Arch-<sub-clause>-<your first name>

Example: For comments related to sub-clause 8.3 of the Architecture document and if Mary is the first to comment, the title of Mary’s email reads: Arch-8.3-Mary

E-meeting 18-21 December 2006
After this initial comment period, we will have further discussion on the whole revised documents from 18 to 21 of December. I will notify you of the logistics prior to 18 December.
