Study Group 4 considers it important that those involved, inside and outside
ITU-T, in the day-to-day development of standards related to telecommunication management (including TMN) topics, have a
common platform for sharing relevant standards documentation at an early stage. This hopefully will
assist in meeting the common goal of focusing standards development on specific topics in a single standards
body, avoiding duplication of work, increasing cooperation between key Standards
Developing Organizations (SDO), Forums and Consortia, and as a result, produce market-oriented and timely
standards aligned across the various bodies.
With this in mind the TSB Secretariat has set up an FTP area, within the Study
Group 4 Web site, as a platform for the exchange of relevant standards documentation. This FTP area is accessible to members of
Study Group 4 and of other SDOs, Forums and Consortia that are involved in developing
Study Group 4 and related telecom management standards.
To use this facility it is necessary to register and subscribe to the relevant e-mail mailing list.
Please contact the relevant lead person of the collaborating standards organization to obtain the necessary clearance.
The current use of this external access FTP area and associated mailing list is to support:
- the two Telecommunication Management Collaboration Focus Groups established in collaboration with
the TeleManagement Forum, one for the eTOM (Enhanced Telecom Operations Map) and one for HMI (Human Machine Interface),
approved by Study Group 4 on 7 May 2004. Though these Focus Groups were terminated by Study Group 4 in February 2005, their mailing list and document area will remain open until the AAP process they triggered is completed. At that time, their documents will be archived.
- the Telecommunication Management Collaboration Focus Group on Multi-Technology Network Management established by Study Group 4 on 25 February
- other general, short term activities.
