ST61 Agreement, revised Geneva 2006

Planning area
European Broadcasting Area: is bounded on the west by the western boundary of Region 1, on the east by the meridian 40░ East of Greenwich and on the south by the parallel 30░ North so as to include the northern part of Saudi Arabia and that part of those countries bordering the Mediterranean within these limits. In addition, Iraq, Jordan and that part of the territory of Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey and Ukraine lying outside the above limits are included in the European Broadcasting Area.

Frequency bands

In its glory days, ST61 Agreement covered nearly the whole VHF/UHF broadcasting bands in the European Broadcasting Area. In 1985 it "lost" the frequency band 87.5-108 MHz (radio only) following the establishment of the GE84 Agreement and again in 2006 the frequency bands 174-230 MHz and 470-862 MHz with the establishment of GE06 Agreement. For now...

Band I: 41-68 MHz
Band II: 87.5-100 MHz
Band III: 162-174 MHz
