Maritime mobile Access and Retrieval System (MARS)

The main objective of the ITU MARS webpage is to provide users with the means to access and retrieve operational information registered in the ITU maritime database. This information has been notified, to the Radiocommunication Bureau, by Administrations of the Member States of the ITU.

The ITU maritime database currently contains information concerning:

Ship stations (including those that participate in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS));
Coast stations
Addresses of Accounting Authorities;
Addresses of Administrations which notify information;
MMSI assigned to Search and Rescue (SAR) aircraft; and
MMSI assigned to AIS Aids to Navigation (AtoN).

MARS also links to other maritime related sites within the Radiocommunication Bureau and makes available the various notification forms used for the submission of data. In addition, this system provides administrations with the possibility to download a file containing all their ship stations that are currently registered with ITU.

Download ship stations, coast stations and MMSI assigned to AtoN(s)(Restricted Access) English only - The purpose of this service is to enable administrations to download files containing all ship stations, coast stations and AIS Aids to Navigation (AtoN) that they have notified to the ITU.

The compilation(s) below are provided as a complement to the List(s) and their carriage on board ships is not mandatory.

Appendix 16 of the Radio Regulations stipulate the carriage requirements of the ITU Service Publications, on board ships.
