RRB - Condolence message from RRB on the sad demise of Mr. Richard. Butler, Ex Secretary General, ITU

On behalf of the Members of the Radio Regulations Board (RRB), ITU, we wish to submit our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our beloved Mr. Richard Butler on his sad demise. It is with deep sorrow that RRB Members have learnt this news, which has saddened everyone in the international telecom/ ICT fraternity.
Mr. Butler had 22 years’ long association with ITU at top management level. It is very hard to realize the loss of a man who made such huge contribution to the ITU leadership for development & shaping of the ITU in its present form. He was a highly professional and very modest person. His contribution to ITU as well as the telecom/ ICT sectors globally, would be remembered for ever. Members of the RRB had a chance to meet him regularly during WRC-12, where he was very active. He was a friend and guide to everyone who came in his contact.
This is a great grief for the family of Mr. Butler and a big loss for the ITU and the global telecom/ ICT fraternity. May God grant peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear his loss.
