My name is Eugeniu Conovali. I am from the Republic of Moldova with a degree in Cybernetics and Economic Studies. I have experience in IT field and software development, achieved with a number of international NGOs and private companies in several countries before coming to the Russian Federation. While in Africa I worked mostly in local IT development, my dream has been always to learn some new and unexplored sides by me of global IT development.
I was honored to be selected to achieve work experience as a junior professional at the ITU Area Office in Moscow, Russian Federation. The period of this internship was for 5 months until March 2008.
My work schedule included assisting in reviewing the regional projects, evaluation of proposed projects to be implemented in the region, assisting in website updating the European and CIS countries, to moderate discussion boards and share experience through the Official ITU Network that is dedicated to the ITU-Youth Forum Alumni, the “Young Leaders in ICT.-YLin ICTs” and to participate in the overall activities of the ITU Area Office in Moscow.
Within the framework of these activities I have also the pleasure to assist in the organization of the “ITU/BDT Regional seminar on Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) for CIS, CEE and Baltic Countries”. In addition, I participated at the event that was attended by the Director of Telecommunication Development Sector. Participants to the seminar included specialists from all over the world and I had an excellent opportunity to share new ideas, share experience and learn new tendencies and researches in the wireless and broadband access. It enhanced my knowledge and comprehension of some aspects of IT industry.
I found the work at the ITU Area Office challenging and exciting. I received clear guidance and useful advice from colleagues. I had a chance to meet and discuss with other ITU junior professionals from other regions and to share our experience and future plans.
I am extremely thankful to all the ITU colleagues who provided valuable support and gave me the opportunity to work for the ITU Area Office in Moscow, Russian Federation. My deepest gratitude goes to the Youth Incentive Scheme internship initiative of the BDT’s Youth Program and I hope many other young professionals can benefit from such opportunities.
