PRE-REGISTRATION, REGISTRATION AND ISSUANCE OF BADGES FOR WTDC-06

1. Pre-registration

No credentials are required for the WTDC-06. Each Member State / ITU-D Sector Member / Observer, shall DESIGNATE A FOCAL POINT responsible for handling all pre-registration and registration formalities. The pre-registration of WTDC-06 participants will be carried out by the WTDC-06 Registration Service on the basis of the information provided through the Designated Focal Points (DFP). Member States delegations as well as representatives from ITU-D Sector Members and Observers that have not yet provided information on their DFP are requested to do so before 20 December 2005 by providing the following information:

Each DFP will then receive a username and password giving access to online pre-registration.

To designate a different focal point, an official request to modify the above information should be submitted to the WTDC-06 Registration Service by fax (+41 22 730 5484), providing contact details as indicated above.

In the case where online pre-registration is not possible, DFPs are requested to contact the WTDC-06 Registration Service by fax (+41 22 730 5484) or by e-mail (wtdc2006-registration@itu.int) in order to obtain the registration forms.

Each pre-registered participant will receive a confirmation letter, by e-mail or by fax. This confirmation letter, together with a passport or ID card, must be presented at the "WTDC-06 badging desk" in Doha in order to receive an official WTDC-06 badge. The confirmation letter can also be used as a supporting document with the Qatari authorities when applying for a visa.

Pre-registration is highly recommended for all participants in order to avoid delays upon arrival at the WTDC-06 Registration Centre.

2. On-site registration and badging

Opening hours

The WTDC-06 Registration Centre will be open as follows:

• Saturday 4 March 2006: 14:00 to 20:00

• Sunday 5 March to Wednesday 8 March 2006: 08:00 to 20:00

• From Thursday 9 March 2006: 08:00 to 18:00

Pre-registered participants

Pre-registered participants who have received a confirmation letter from the WTDC-06 Registration Service may proceed directly to the "WTDC-06 badging desk" in the Registration Centre, where they will be requested to present their confirmation letter, together with their passport or ID card in order to receive an official WTDC-06 badge.

Other participants

Participants who have not pre-registered should first proceed to the "WTDC-06 registration desk" in the Registration Centre, where they will be required to provide proof of representation (signed by the DFP). Once the request has been validated by the WTDC-06 Registration Service, the participant may proceed to the "WTDC-06 badging desk" where a badge will be issued.

Loss of a WTDC-06 badge must be reported immediately to the WTDC-06 Security Service.

3. About Visas

A valid passport and entry visa are needed for entering Qatar. ict-QATAR welcomes you on their web site page, which gives you full information on visas and the ways to proceed.

The “e-visa” system is part of a commitment made by the Qatari Government. You are encouraged to use the Online registration (http://www.e.gov.qa/RegisterUserWeb/index.jsp?lang=en) for visa issuing.
