Biography

Mr. Robindhra Mangtani joined the GSMA in 2006 as Director of the Interworking and Roaming (IREG) Expert Group. In 2007 he became the Project Director for the GSMA activity in femtocells and Technical Director of the GSMA mobile alliance on content filtering. In addition, during 2007-8 he represented GSMA on the board of directors of the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA). Since 2008 Robindhra has concentrated on public policy and regulation including NGN/IP interconnection, Mobile Alliance, Data privacy, eCall, Rural connectivity through mobile broadband and securing access to Digital Dividend spectrum. Robindhra's previously worked for Ofcom, the UK national regulator, where he was involved in competition policy in Telecommunications and Mobile Networks. He represented Ofcom in the European Regulators Group (ERG/IRG) working groups on IP interconnection, Next Generation networks (NGNs) and Broadband access, European Commission's Expert Group on Emergency Access and sat on the board of the UK Network Interoperability Consultative Committee (NICC) and technical committee of NGNuk . Before joining Ofcom, Robindhra had over 15 years experience in the design, development and implementation of Global voice, data, IP, fixed and mobile networks for Qualcomm (affiliate company), Cable and Wireless Global and British Airways
