The Steering Committee comprises:

Chairman: The ITU Secretary-General, assisted by the Executive Manager of TELECOM
Members: The Deputy Secretary-General, the Director of BDT
Secretary: The Programme Administrator

Role of the Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is the supreme governing body of the TELECOM Surplus Funds Programme. It meets regularly to:

Approve the projects submitted by the Programme Administrator.
Modify a project's objectives while it is under way at the request of the beneficiary.
Allocate resources from TELECOM surpluses to the TELECOM Surplus Funds Programme Fund.
Allocate funds from the TELECOM Surplus Funds Programme Fund to a project that qualifies for the Programme.
Monitor the execution of projects under the TELECOM Surplus Funds Programme.
