Phone lines and internet ports will reach neighborhoods, parishes, precincts and townships of
Cotopaxi, through wireless networks that cover 40 miles.
In a conference, Guido del Toro, Director of the National Telecommunications Corporation (
CNT) of this town, after an annual report, announced that the projects will be implemented in 2011, which will benefit the counties within the province, both, at ports of broadband internet as telephone lines.
Del Toro said that in 2010 they have been conducted a study to determine the type of project that requires the cantons according to the demand and estimate the necessity and implement the required projects.
Among the recipients are several parishes and districts of Latacunga, as
Guaytacama, Joseguango Alto, La Calera, Lasso, Locoa, Santán, San Buenaventura, San Felipe, Los Hornos, Mulaló Pastocalle, San José de Poaló, Yugsiloma, San Carlos y Toacaso, this is the group that will benefit in the first quarter of next year.
In the second half, del Toro said that they will run several projects that will facilitate communication between cotopaxenses, through the implementation of telephone and internet ports, as have the internet service is no longer a luxury, but also a necessity, so that is one of the objectives of the corporation, to reach rural areas, he said.
