|
|
The Department of Broadband Communications and the Digital Economy (DBCDE) contributes CHF 591,000 to the ITU Development Sector (ITU D-Sector). A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and this project document signed by DBCDE and the ITU governs the funding arrangements and activities to be implemented utilizing these funds. In the Asia-Pacific (ASP) Region, the ITU is implementing various activities under the Hyderabad Action Plan (HAP) adopted at the World Telecommunication Development Conference in 2010. Activities include regional events and country specific actions relating to all aspects of telecommunication/ICT development. This project document aims to support and facilitate those planned activities which meet the criteria set out in this document as well as any new initiative requested by member administrations. Key areas of focus include the five Programmes and the Asia-Pacific Regional Initiatives identified in the HAP. This includes thematic areas such as telecommunications/ICT policy and regulation, human capacity building, cybersecurity, spectrum management, ICT applications, digital inclusion, and emergency communications.
