Activity WA-1 - National Transposition of ECOWAS and UEMOA Community
Acts
The purpose of this
technical assistance is to complete the transposition of ECOWAS
supplementary acts and WAEMU directives
by adopting all measures necessary for its effective
incorporation into the national legal system, by integrating all
legal provisions of the Community act into national law as well
as repealing and amending all provisions where appropriate to
ensure optimal coherence between transposed provisions and
existing domestic law.

WA-1/CI - National Transposition of ECOWAS and UEMOA Community
Acts in Cote D'Ivoire
Mission to Abidjan, Cote
d'Ivoire (22-26 March 2010)
This initial
field mission of the international and national consultants'
team had the following objectives: (i) conduct a first
assessment, (ii) meet the national authorities of Côte
d'Ivoire, particularly the members of National Committee for
Transposition composed, among others the representatives of the
Ministry responsible for telecommunications and ICT,
national regulation of telecommunications and ICT,
telecommunications operators and providers of electronic
communications services, judiciary and parliamentary assemblies.
Validation Workshop at Grand
Bassam, Cote d'Ivoire (13-17 April 2010)
The objective
of this workshop was to validate the national strategy for Côte
d'Ivoire, including a proposed timetable for implementation of
additional instruments of ECOWAS and the Guidelines of ECOWAS
and UEMOA for telecommunications and ICT advising national
authorities on the best choices to be made when necessary.
Final Workshop in Abidjan,

The objective
of this workshop was to validate the national strategy for Côte

WA-1/LR - Technical Assistance to Liberia for ECOWAS
Supplementary Acts Transposition
Workshop in Monrovia, Liberia
The purpose
of this workshop is to
meet the national Authorities of the Liberia including but not
limited to the NTCT members among tem the representatives of the
Ministry responsible for telecommunications and ICT, of the
national regulatory body for telecommunications and ICT,
telecommunications operators and electronic communications
services providers, judiciary and parliamentary assemblies along
with the national expert. This will follow by receiving
validation of proposed Liberia’s national strategy which will
then presented and discussed the proposed updated during the
validation and adoption workshop.

For the implementation of this HIPSSA Project activity, a
Call for Application was published in order to recruit short term experts.
