Cable Bahamas Limited has been providing cable TV services in the Bahamas since March 1995 and Internet services since March 2000. Two significant growth areas for the company are its high-speed Internet services and its wholly owned submarine 600 km fiber-optic cable system, which is operated by its subsidiary, Caribbean Crossings Ltd. Anthony Butler

Mr. Butler became President in 2003, culminating a 5 year rise through the company where he successfully led several business initiatives. In 2010, he was promoted to CEO and during his tenure; he has spearheaded growth to revenues of over $100M and introduced strategies for continued development and expansion. He has seen the successful rebranding of the company and the launch of Broadband Internet (REVON) and Voice services (REVOICE), the commencement of Caribbean Crossings, Cable Bahamas’ submarine fiber network to link the principal islands of the Bahamas with Florida, and, more recently, the expansion into the US telecom market. His hands-on style coupled with strategic directives has enabled him to deliver one of the most successful companies in The Bahamas.

Mr. Butler joined Cable Bahamas in January 1999 as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to joining Cable Bahamas, Mr. Butler served as the Director of Public Works for the Government of the Bahamas from 1995. He received his education in the United Kingdom. As a professional engineer, his career started in the UK with a large engineering group, where he was promoted to ever-increasing levels of responsibility. Mr. Butler moved with his family to The Bahamas in 1990.

He served on the Cable Bahamas Board of Directors in 2006, 2010 to 2013, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Cable Telecommunications Association (CCTA) from 2001 to 2008, serving as its Chairman in 2003. He currently is a director of the Caribbean Cable Cooperative Ltd the buying cooperative for the English speaking cable television companies in the Caribbean and Atlantic basins. Additionally, Mr. Butler was one of the recipients of the Government of the Bahamas’ prestigious Silver Jubilee Award in 1998, which is presented to those who contribute to nation building, on the 25th anniversary of Bahamian independence.
