Established in 2003, PIHR is a not-for-profit volunteer organization working for the promotion and delivery of Universal Human Rights through the use of ICTs, by way of informing, capacitating and transforming institutions and communities. We are running 8 Multipurpose Community Telecentres (MCT) in 4 provinces, and have helped establish 488 Educational Broadband Centres (EBC) and 176 Community Broadband Centres (CBC) in 4 districts. With infrastructure in place, PIHR is in the process of empowering men and women, boys and girls by providing opportunities of skill development, access to information, and delivery of social services such as education and health. This is achieved through projects under four programme areas: Connecting Schools – Enabling Communities, Tolerant Pakistan, Strengthening Democratic Values and Research in ICT4D.
