Nepal Telecom (Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited)
NEPAL TELECOM, registered as "Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited", was transformed from its former identity "Nepal Telecommunications Corporation (NTC)" on 13 April 2004 to carry on with the 98-years of telecommunications history in the country.
At present, even in the presence of other five telecommunication service providers in the country, the company has been able to expand footprint of the traditional landline, GSM & CDMA mobiles, and VSATs for geographically challenging terrains throughout the country. The company is also an ISP, and so provides High Speed Internet and data services, like ADSL in fixed lines, and CDMA-EVDO and GSM-3G in wireless services in all 75 districts of the country. The net profit of the company has grown from Rs 3-billion in FY 2004/05 to Rs 10.78 billion in 2009/10.
