Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales (AR-SAT S.A.)
Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales (AR-SAT S.A.) is a government-owned corporation which started operating in July 2006, after Law Nº 26.092 was approved. In addition to the initial capital, the above mentioned law granted onto AR-SAT exclusive rights to operate and commercialize geostationary orbital position 81W in Kµ band (North & South America) and C band (Hemispheric coverage). AR-SAT holds rights over the engineering and development of national satellites to be manufactured within the scope of the Communications’ Argentine Geostationary Satellite Project, as started back in December 2007 upon the signature of a contract with an argentine corporation named INVAP. The national government transferred NAHUELSAT operational assets to AR-SAT. NAHUELSAT had exploited geostationary orbital position 72W by means of NAHUEL I satellite.
