The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (Cedare), established in 1992, is an international inter-governmental organization, with diplomatic status. The Centre's mission is to provide leadership and advocate sound governance for environmental protection. The Centre' specific priorities for action include: water resources management, land resources, knowledge management and information technology applications, and the interrelated issues of markets, business and the environment. Cedare’s global partner base includes governments, universities, international organizations, NGO’s, media, private sector, and civil society. Cedare contributes to the establishment of a number of regional environment and information networks.
