Safaricom Limited was incorporated on 3 April 1997 under the Companies Act as a private limited liability compan. It was converted into a public company with limited liability on 16 May 2002. The company is the leading provider of converged communication solutions in Kenya. In addition to providing a broad range of first-class products and services for Telephony, EDGE, Broadband Internet and Fax, Safaricom seeks to uplift the welfare of Kenyans in direct ways through value added services and financial support for community projects.
