ITU Regional Presence
ITU's policy on regional presence is designed to enable the Union to
work as closely as possible with its members and to tailor ITU
activities to meet the ever-increasing and diverse needs of the world's
developing and least developed countries. This policy is enforced
through BDT's network of eleven field offices. These include regional
offices in Addis Ababa (for Africa), Brasilia (for Americas), Cairo (for
the Arab States), Bangkok (for Asia and Pacific) and Moscow (Europe and
CIS countries) and a number of area offices in each of these regions.
The field offices work in close synergy with the BDT team in the
headquarters in Geneva and also assist the General Secretariat, the
Radiocommunication Bureau and the Telecommunication Standardization
Bureau in fulfilling their missions.
