Venezuelan telecoms regulator Conatel has reported that Venezuela ended the second quarter of 2010 with 29.2 million total mobile subscriptions, up by only around 100,000 from 29.1 million at mid-2009, in a market where mobile user accounts outnumber the population. In the fixed broadband sector, Conatelís figures showed that subscribers increased by 44.4% year-on-year to 2.22 million at end-June 2010 from 1.54 million in 2Q09.
