Participants who wish to apply for fellowships must have registered
online and submitted the duly completed and approved fellowship form
latest by Thursday, 1 october 2009. Requests received after the deadline will be considered on an "as
possible" basis. |
Eligibility
Subject to the availability of funds ITU will provide one fellowship per
administration of Least Developed countries (LDCs).
Priority will be given to
participants who will present a new contribution of direct relevance to the
agenda items of the programme.
While the number of delegates
from any country is not limited, countries will bear the costs of any additional
delegate.
Deadline and procedure
You are invited to submit your approved and signed fellowship request form no
later than Thursday 1 October 2009.
You must
first register online and choose the appropriate box on the online
registration form. Upon the acceptance of your registration, you will
electronically receive the fellowship request form which you are requested to
complete, sign and have it signed by the approving officer of your
administration and stamped with the official stamp of the administration.
Once
completed, you may either scan it and e‑mail it to BDT
bdtfellowships@itu.int OR fax it to: +41 22 730 5778.
Air ticket and subsistence
allowance
Depending on the number of requests from duly authorized candidates who fulfill
all requirements, fellowships may be either full or partial.
A full fellowship includes one
return economy class air ticket by the most direct/economical route from the
country of origin to Egypt as well as a daily allowance to cover accommodation,
meals and incidental expenses
In the case of partial
fellowships, all applicants will receive a confirmation of the share expected
from their administrations. At that point, the fellowship request can be
confirmed or withdrawn by the approving officer who signed the form.
It is imperative that fellows be present from the first day to
end of the meeting and participate during the entire fellowship period.
