Helping the World Communicate
is also
A Gender Issue

We will only achieve our goal of universal access, bridge the digital divide, and promote gender equality if ITU-D continues to focus on the realties of both women and men in our programming.
Hamadoun I. Touré
ITU Secretary-General

Our goal is to narrow the digital divide between women and men

Our initiatives aim to narrow the gendered digital divide.

Our priorities are informed by the articulated needs of our Member-States as well as the challenges Governments face in improving access to, and use of, information and communications technology (ICTs). Our projects aim to facilitate the access to, and use of, ICTs by women and men.

Facilitate women and men’s access to, and use of, information and communication technologies in developing countries and countries in transition through the formulation, implementation and support of projects and programmes that are either specifically targeted to women or gender sensitive.
