ITU Regional Seminar for Europe on
Transition to Digital Broadcasting and
Digital Dividend |

ITU,
in collaboration with the National Media and Infocommunications Authority of
Hungary, is organizing the Regulatory Seminar for
Europe on “Transition to Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting and Digital
Dividend” to be held from
5 to 7 November 2012 in Budapest, Hungary. The venue of the meeting is Hotel
Mercure Buda, Budapest.
This
Seminar is an integral part of the European Regional Initiative on Digital
Broadcasting for Europe that searches to provide a basis for the exchange of
best practices encountered on the path of digital migration, and the ways to
maximize the economic and social benefits of the digital dividend. It will also
consider how to further develop a unified approach in order to enhance the
advantages that it will bring to the region of Central-Eastern Europe. The
Seminar will discuss, in particular:

Digital terrestrial television transition;

Licensing policies and criteria;
-
Choice between DVBT and DVBT-2;
-
Utilization of the Digital dividend
-
Decision about introduction of the HDTV;
-
Recuperation and safe disposal of obsolete analogue equipment.
This meeting was targeted at the staff of the Ministries and Regulatory
Authorities, in particular those who require very good understanding of the ITU
role and functions in the telecommunication/ICT sector for accomplishing their
tasks. |
