ITU Sub-Regional Seminar and Administration Round Table on Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting and Digital Dividend in
Central and Eastern Europe
International Telecommunication Union in collaboration with the
Hungarian National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) is
organizing a Sub-Regional Seminar and Administration Round Table on
Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting and Digital Dividend in
Central and Eastern Europe, which will be held in Győr, Hungary from 2
to 4 May 2011.
The Sub-Regional Seminar and the Regulatory Round Table is an
opportunity for a high-level dialogue on switchover from analogue to
digital terrestrial television broadcasting, and is aimed to consider
the most important technical, regulatory and economic aspects, as well
as the ITU’s Regional Initiative on assistance to the Region on the
transition from Analogue to Digital broadcasting. The Regional
Initiative was approved by the World Telecommunication Development
Conference in May 2010, as well as the Plenipotentiary Conference in
October 2010.
The main objective of this seminar is to share experiences among the
countries in the Region on the transition to Digital Terrestrial
Television Broadcasting, to discuss important topics such as frequency
issues, harmonization of spectrum use, economic and regulatory issues
concerning analogue switch-off and Digital Dividend in Central and
Eastern Europe. Moreover, the seminar is expected to outline the ITU
assistance required by the Region in order to assist Member States with
the transition.
The seminar is addressed to Policy Makers, Regulators, Broadcast
Engineers, Corporate Executives and Managers, Administrators and
Officials dealing with migration from analogue to digital broadcasting.
The seminar will be conducted in English.
