ITU is providing technical assistance in the implementation of an e-commerce enabled MCT for the Province of Santiago in Cuba.
The ECDC team in collaboration with its partners is currently analyzing the responses to a survey filled by the beneficiary company to define the technical, business, legal, banking and financial requirements in order to elaborate a feasibility study to implement the project. ITU ECDC Project Manager will go on mission to Cuba.
A Technical Cooperation Agreement to be signed by the Ministry of Communications and the ITU is being reviewed by the ITU Legal Service.
We are also identifying and defining the potential private sector companies (technology providers) who will provide its technology to implement the e-commerce enabled MCT in Cuba. Some of the companies already identified are Gemplus, Vordel
and Baltimore Technologies.
