Technical & financial assistance (in collaboration with the government of Japan) to 3,500 members of ASAFE, which represents several countries. BDT financial contribution for the infrastructure is CHF 100,000.00.- The BDT is working with ASAFE to establish an e-commerce infrastructure to be run and operated by ASAFE for its members and community in Douala.
The BDT has assisted the association to undertake the feasibility study and has provided training. The BDT has also assisted ASAFE to register its domain name. The BDT has collaborated in the organization of a Women
Cyberforum in Cameroon & of a joint
IT/UNIFEM Forum at the U.N. H.Q. in New York. The purpose of the Forum is to empower women entrepreneurs as
active players in the digital economy.
Software & hardware will be purchased end year 2000-beginning 2001.
The project is schedules to be operational by year 2001.
