An essay published at Wired.com by Bruce Schneier, CTO of BT Counterpane and author of Beyond Fear: Thinking Sensibly About Security in an Uncertain World, gives a brief overview on the Storm worm botnet. "Gathering 'Storm' Superworm Poses Grave Threat to PC Nets" describes how this massive botnet started from an email attachment and progressed into a 1 million to 50 million infected computers.
