Arab PKI forum Region : Arab States 2012-2014 The new digital economy presents a great number of new employability opportunities which presents a crucial need with high priority in the Arab countries. In fact, considering their low requirement in investment, the increasing Internet penetration rates in the Arab region and the unbounded accessible international markets, the e-services and e-applications present real opportunities for the Arab citizens to develop their own business and value creation. Nowadays, e-commerce is becoming a key driving force and an indicator of the development status of national and international economy. According to international reports, the number of countries adhering to e-commerce is on the rise, and the value of the related on-line transactions is continuously increasing. This project is executed by the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), a technical organization of the League of Arab States, with the assistance of its relevant members from the public and private sector.
Clean Arab DNS   - DNS is an important component of the internet infrastructure, and despite its importance, it is overlooked, simply because it is just working. Hackers are making full use of the DNS to achieve their attacks against users and enterprise; lots of websites are defaced using “DNS Hijacking”, users are deceived using “DNS cache poising”, and many other attacks. Now, it is the time for the security professionals to use DNS too to protect their networks, business and users. Here comes the idea of "Clean DNS".
Developing a Policy toolkit for addressing the rise of Cloud Computing in the Arab region Region : Arab States 2012-2015 Cloud Computing is certainly one of the major technology trends we are experiencing these days; it is considered by many to be as transformational as the rise of the Internet and the Web. The USA, Europe, China, to cite just a few, have developed or are developing Cloud Computing strategies, including policies to unleash the power of Cloud Computing and leverage the promise to create new job opportunities, develop the ICT sector, our SMEs, and the Government. The purpose of the proposed project is to develop - a research paper that studies the impact of Cloud Computing on the Arab region, considering both the challenges in terms of policies, skills, … as well as opportunities for Innovation, job creation, economic development, ICT readiness, E-Govt Readiness, … -a policy toolkit that will provide a consistent and coherent framework for the Arab Countries to develop local policies that will both support National Priorities and unleash the power of the Cloud Convergence’ .
e-Government for Arab States Region Region : Arab States -2016 The main goal of the project is to assist Arab States Region by implementing secure e-Government services and applications to further assist countries in providing efficient public services delivery while improving the lives of citizens and to facilitate secure inter-government operations.
National CIRT Establishment Region : Arab States 2012-2013 The objective of this project is to assist countries in establishing and further developing cybersecurity capabilities, including the establishment of a Computer Incident Response Team with national responsibility.
Pan Arab CIRTs (PAC) Network Project Region : Arab States 2012-2015 The project aims at establishing a network of Arab CIRTs, with a focus on fostering cooperation and information exchange. The network will include three main nodes: • Node 1: Covers the western countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Mauritania) • Node 2: Covers the Gulf countries • Node 3: Covers the rest of the Arab countries Each node will be hosted by an experienced CIRT that acts as a regional hub whose responsibilities include:  Organize training workshops and events,  Assist in establishing new CIRTs in their region, as well as in expanding the scope of activities of existing CIRTS,  Create a regional (Who is who) database of CyberSecurity experts and officials,  Support regional cooperation in CyberSecurity priority areas including malware analysis, digital forensics, anti-botnet activities, etc.  Promote and encourage internships between CIRTs, in order to enhance exchange of experiences and to strengthen cooperation  Coordinate efforts with the ITU, IMPACT, as well as with other Pan Arab CIRT nodes
Securing E-Commerce   - Customers trust will increase numbers of transactions on E-Commerce. The project will provide a comprehensive and united security mechanisms to achieve this goal. It will revenue and acoomodate upcoming technologies like NFC (Near Field Communications) and Digital Wallets
The Future Vision of Intelligent Mobility and Smart Urban Planning in Arabia Region : Arab States - Intelligent Mobility ( includes Intelligent Transport systems and Services(ITS) + Smart Urban planning) is very important for the Arab region particularly as we are building the communication and ICT standards and infrastructure. We propose to develop a Strategy that ensures the deployment of sustainable, integrated, cost effective Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS) that supports a growing economy and takes advantage of rapid changes in Transport Technology. To establishes the: -principle ITS standards & specifications -roadmap for sustainable implementation of future green and multimodal ITS by considering combined Transport & Built Environment
