ITU/SPC TRAINING OF TRAINERS IN RICS OPERATIONS

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) jointly with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) are organising "ITU/SPC Training of Trainers in Rural Internet Connectivity System (RICS) Operations" to be held from 23 to 24 November 2009 at Novotel Nadi Namaka Hill, Fiji Islands.

The training will be held back to back with the 1st ITU PacificCERT Stakeholder Meeting on 25 November 2009 and the ITU-EC project kick-off meeting, 26-27 November 2009 at the same venue.

The ITU/SPC Training of Trainers in RICS Operations aims to build human capacity related to community telecentres and ICT applications within Pacific Island Countries and create a network of experts/trainers in the region. The training targets potential trainers, RICS operators, and government officials in charge of RICS/telecentre deployment.

Participants are kindly requested to complete the registration form and the fellowship request form, if required, and send them to the email addresses indicated in the form no later than 6 November 2009. Hotel reservations should be made directly with your own choice of hotel. For practical reasons, the number of participants will be limited.

Participants requiring an entry visa to Fiji are requested to contact their local Embassy for information well in advance. Please note that there are no training fees for this course.

Should you require further information, please contact Mr. Wisit Atipayakoon (wisit.atipayakoon@itu.int).
