Impact of ICT usage on work/life balance, Survey 2009

Dear Madam, Sir,

The ITU has established a long tradition of on-line surveys to address issues of interest to the membership, such as quality of ITU services, Study Group questionnaires, etc.

We are pleased to announce today the launch of a new series of yearly surveys, of a wider nature, aiming at analyzing the impact of the introduction of ICTs in the business environment.

The 2009 questionnaire focuses on two issues: work/life balance and friendly spam:

  • How do organizations address the modification of work/life balance araising from the development and introduction of mobile and ubiquitous ICT services and devices?
  • How do organizations address the increase in friendly spam, e.g. of unsolicited mail received from "friendly sources" such as colleagues, partners, customers and alike?

These two questions will be analyzed in view of the responses received from ITU Sector Membership as well as from companies with whom we are in contact (deadline for responses 31 January 2010) and a report will be presented to the upcoming meeting of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG) in February 2010.

Your timely participation will be highly appreciated.
