Hong
Kong is a compact city, so getting around is easy.
Buses, trams and harbour ferries are complemented by the
Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system, enabling you to
travel safely and conveniently between your hotel, the
HKCEC and other venues in the city.
Metered
taxi rides are reasonably priced, and signs by the taxi
ranks give sample fares. Rates start at HK$15.00 on flag
fall (first two km) plus HK$1.40 for every further 250
m. Pay only the fare shown on the meter, plus any
additional charges when applicable (Hong Kong Island
passengers have to pay the two-way Cross-Harbour tunnel
toll, and a fee is charged for each piece of luggage –
charges are displayed in the taxi).
If
you are travelling to Hong Kong, China, you must be in
possession of a valid identity document allowing you to
enter the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
(HKSAR). If you need an entry visa, you are advised to
make the necessary arrangements well in advance of your
departure – you will not be allowed entry to HKSAR
without a valid visa.

to apply, either visit www.info.gov.hk/immd/english/topical/e/1.htm,
