PRESS OFFICER NOMINATION

We are putting a range of services in place to help our participating organizations take advantage of the media and industry analyst opportunities available throughout ITU TELECOM AMERICAS 2005. To benefit, we strongly advise you to nominate a “Press Officer”.

ROLE OF A PRESS OFFICER

The Press Officer plays a central role in ensuring that their organization can maximize visibility with the media whilst present at an ITU TELECOM event. Press Officers serve as the communication channel between our Media Relations Service and the organization they represent. Press Officers also act as the official point of contact for journalists/analysts wishing to speak to you during AMERICAS 2005 and will be badged accordingly so as to accompany you on-site.

PRESS OFFICER BENEFITS

Registering as a Press Officer is the only method of securing access to the Accredited Media & Analyst list available online. Press Officer contact details are also made available via our password-protected web pages and are distributed to the journalists/analysts accredited for the event.

One section of our website is dedicated to facilitating the activities of a Press Officer and through here they will be able to inform us and the media of their VIPs’ availability for interviews, media events and any particular good/service they wish to highlight at AMERICAS 2005 (Exhibitors only).

Finally, the Press Officer is the only representative of a participating organization entitled to reserve the official press conference room and gain access to the on-site Media Centre facilities (i.e. pigeonholes and interview rooms).

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

Exhibitors: The Main Contact Person for the Stand must nominate their Press Officer via the online form located in the Media Relations section of the Exhibitors’ Manual. Pavilion Organizers can either forward the Manual username/password to their Members or complete the forms on their behalf.
Forum Speakers & Government Officials: Please forward the full contact details (email, telephone, mobile, etc.) of your Press Officer to our Media Relations Service for registration. To reduce the risk of multiple nominations, we request that these details be officially supplied through your Office.
